What is Air Dried 48?

Wood is a product of nature that needs a natural finish. Most common urethane finishes cover the wood surface with a thick chemical layer of coating, taking away the beauty and elegance of the wood grain. By penetrating the surface of the wood, AIR DRIED 48 FINISH protects and saturates your floor for a lifetime white still preserving the original feeling and look of the grain.

What makes AIR DRIED 48 FINISH TM so special?

AIR DRIED 48 FINISH offers the strongest protection for a unique solution application process. Each plank is "air dried" during 48 hours to give the strongest protection available.

The AIR DRIED 48 FINISH TM finishing process resembles the way that flooring used to be finished back in the old days:

Step 1: Each plank is checked and stained manually using a cloth that rubs the color deep into the wood grain.
Step 2: After staining, the planks are individually stacked on racks to allow the stain to dry and penetrate into the surface of the wood for 8 hours long.
Step 3: Once the stain is dry, a base layer of AIR DRIED 48 FINISH is applied using a curtain coat that ensures 100% coverage of the entire surface.
Step 4: A drying time of not less than 20 hours is needed for the first AIR DRIED 48 FINISH layer to saturate and dry.
Step 5: A top layer of AIR DRIED 48 FINISH, existing of 5 coats in total, is applied to give the planks their final surface protection.
Step 6: A final drying cycle of 20 hours is needed to air-dry the finish before it is ready for packing.

AIR DRIED 48 FINISH penetrates into the entire surface of the wood floor. In doing so, AIR DRIED 48 FINISH protects and saturates your floor while still preserving its natural look and feeling.	A traditional UV-cured urethane coating covers the surface of the wood floor, making the floor look like a mirror and feel like plastic.
As AIR DRIED 48 FINISH has penetrated into the wood it is much harder to scratch. In case of a scratch, the scratch can be easily repaired on site with a standard touch up kit.	Scratching a common UV-cured urethane will cause highly visible damage as the coating starts flaking and turns white around the scratch. It is not possible to repair your floor...
